Today we reviewed the different parts of the computer!
starting with the
motherboard: controls and connects everything on the computer also called the main board & system board, it also co-ordinates what happens.
- a computer does not know what it is.
- the bios tells the computer " your a computer find out whats connected to you".
controller/PCI: controls the card slots.
form factor: the way it is built and the way things connect to it.
modem: takes binary data from the computer and turns it into sound then transfers it to the phone line, & vise-verse , so the sound from the phone line turns into binary and goes to the computer.processor: uses electricity to do math calculations.
CPU: there's a ceramic cover placed over the CPU because they tend to get very hot and shut down, the ceramic being cooled off by the fan does not let the CPU get hot.
Video&Sound Cards: they both take the task away from the computer, meaning their only designed to do one task so the CPU takes on the roll to do the other jobs.
Memory: what your computer is using right now.
Hard drive: is storage.
Ram: you can open it up and have acess to it.
CD Rom: Bumps = 1 and pits are 0.
